The dress is so cheap it is more plastic than fabric, and she is fully bare bottomed under the cheap short skirt–for forty bucks, you can’t throw in a pair of bloomers? I would be the first to tell you this cup is a pain to clean, but it is also the most leak proof cup I have found so I don’t mind cleaning it. Any other cup I use just pours juice into the floor but these hardly ever leak or it is a very small amount. My 2 year old does chew through the straws but I just buy the replacement straws. Even though it may have a few problems I believe the benefits outweigh all that other stuff.

I read the reviews of Melissa & Doug’s earlier instrument puzzle, and I hoped that the 2009 version would have addressed the earlier version’s problems. It didn’t. The music still plays on its own in the middle of the night, and the instument sounds are not realistic at all. The drum and the xylophone aren’t bad, but I can’t tell the difference between the trumpet and the violin. Those are two instuments that should not sound alike. However, in all fairness to Melissa & Doug, my kids do seem to enjoy playing with the puzzle. Just don’t expect them to learn instrument sounds from it, and you’ll want to pop out the batteries before you go to bed.
